melon balls

A melon baller is a small spoon-like tool used to scoop into the melon flesh and twist to remove neat balls of fruit. It can be used to cut other soft fruit as well. The diameter of a melon baller varies from 1 cm (3/8 inch) to 3 cm (1 inch) and it is usually made of stainless steel with a handle of wood, metal, or hard plastic.

To get a perfect round, press down firmly so the melon baller digs into the flesh, then twist to make the circle. Cut the melon in half and scoop out the balls. That way, the juice stays inside the half-melon, and then you can pour out the juice if you decide to use it in mixing up the drinks or something else.

To serve, skewer with toothpicks or use them as a garnish for your drink.

The melon ballers are very inexpensive to own, and it’s fun to own one. Kids and adults all love these balls of melons.
