Sweet and Sour Chicken is a Chinese dish, however, it’s quickly gaining popularity in Vietnamese kitchen. Follow the recipe below for a quick and easy fix for a delicious Sweet and Sour Chicken at home.
1/3 cup fresh lemon juice
1/3 cup fresh tangerine (or orange) juice
1 inch ginger, peeled and thinly sliced
2 tbsp honey
1 tbsp plum sauce
2 tbsp ketchup
10 dried red chili
1/2 cup panko bread crumbs
1/2 cup regular bread cumbs
1 tsp salt
2 chicken breasts, cut into bite sized
Oil for frying
In a saucepan, combine all sauce ingredients, bring to a boil then simmer for 30 minutes.
In a bowl, beat up 2 eggs. Mix the chicken breasts with eggs, then coat them thoroughly in bread crumb mixture.
In a wok, fry the chicken in 350F oil until they become golden brown.
Remove oil from wok, heat sauce until boiling and add chicken. Stir lightly and serve.
